INTRODUCTION
The ILM Level 4 Certificate in Leadership is designed for middle managers preparing to move into a more senior leadership role, and need to lead larger groups of people to achieve organizational goals.


Who will the course benefit?
The Level 4 Award is for those managers who have responsibility for achieving organisational goals, recognise the importance of leadership in ensuring this happens and are in a position to practice the leadership role.

Course objectives
The Main purpose of this qualification is to Evaluate their own leadership and analyse and evaluate leadership learnings

The content of the course is on; Leadership Plus, and consists of:

  • Analyse and Evaluate the Leadership Journey
  • Leadership Journey and Planning, Analysis and Evaluation
  • Action Learning for Leadership and Organisational Development
  • Participation in action learning sets Analyse own leadership strengths and limitations
  • Identify, assess, select and plan appropriate actions to develop own leadership capacity
  • Identify sources of help and support
  • Set, monitor and adjust realistic time scales for leadership development
  • Identify and make judgements about improvements in own leadership performance


Knowledge, Understanding and Skills:

  • Personal strengths and limitations analysis – building on the assessment undertaken for Unit S1
  • The distinction between cognitive and affective skills and the effect of personality on the development and applications of these skills
  • Importance of a systematic approach to developing effective leadership skills
  • Setting objectives for leadership development and their application to work and other contexts
  • Techniques for developing personal leadership capacity
  • Sources of information, help and support for leadership development, including theorists, tutors, practising/model leaders, colleagues
  • How to overcome blockages and obstacles to leadership development
  • Monitoring, analysis and evaluation techniques


Gaining 360o feedback on own leadership performance


Plus at least 3 hours of one-to-one tutorial support
