Why is this programme important?

We have developed a specific
programme for (Middle Management) Station and Group managers, mapped across from the IPDS competencies and the National Occupational Standards

What exactly is this programme?

This BTEC has been researched and developed by JSA over the last 18 month In line with the IPDS ‘People Skills section. This is NOT promoted as a recommended replacement for attendance of the Fire Service College; it is however, for those Fire services HQ’s that have decided not to attend the college for this section of the training!

How is the programme structured?

At JSA we firmly believe that flexibility is key. This 6 unit modular programme takes 15 days in total. We can deliver any module together over a single 3-day period. This ensures flexibility to the Brigade as well as to individuals to fit in with other commitments. The programme can then be rolled out and completed to a schedule which meets the requirements of any HQ. The intention will also be to support the delivery of this BTEC to retained staff on a local level.

• The full certificated course totals 15 days
• Each course is split into 5 programmes
• Each programme is 3 days duration

At JSA we work on an average group size of 7 participants per tutor and typically have 2 tutors per programme.
